Capella Singapore
Looking for an idyllic getaway without much of a budget? Head to Capella on Sentosa Island. A three night stay at one of the villas was a lovely relaxing experience.
The hotel is located just 5 minutes drive from the Sentosa gantry point. What was the former British Military base for its officers, the Capella Singapore today is an elegant hotel featuring an exquisite Chinese restaurant, coffee house, spa, bar and tea area.
THE VILLA
Living Room: spacious; a good sized living room. Sofa that could be made into a bed. Good sized flat screen TV, work table and size table.
Bedroom: King sized bed, corner table, flat screen TV. There is a pillow menu.

His & Her sinks
- WC and outdoor shower
- Separate shower
There is an outdoor balcony that stretches from the living room to the bathroom. This area includes two deck chairs, a dining set and a plunge pool. You will have to deal with leaves floating in the pool but housekeeping does come in to clear it up for you.
With 112 rooms, suites and villas you are spoilt for choice. Rooms are located in the main building whilst the suites are located in the lush hotel grounds. The villa was extremely spacious and sitting on the deck facing the lush greenery was, for me, extremely calming. I have, on a separate occasion, stayed at the Premier Seaview Room. This was an equally relaxing experience. Do take time to see which room would fit your holiday needs.
HOTEL
F&B Outlets
Cassia Restaurant is a particular favourite of mine. It serves elegant Cantonese cuisine in the main building and makes for a fine lunch or dinner.
The main dining room Knolls faces the pool. There is a private dining room at the back. The menu selection is that of both Western and Asian cuisine. For something less formal, head to Bob’s Bar. Enjoy the lounge seats and snack on dishes from both Knoll’s and the bar.
Conclusion
If you are stuck in Singapore and unable to travel, The Capella Hotel offers an idyllic retreat away from the city. Whilst the villa may provide greater privacy and space, some may prefer to book a room in the main building (particularly during the monsoon season) as it is easier to get around. Do pop into the Auriga Spa if you have time. You can easily spend an hour or two relaxing in their hot bath and steam room.
